Since I began studying in early Feb 2012, I’ve noticed considerable improvement in most of the sections except FRA… even though I’ve spent a disproportionate amount of effort in FRA.
Although I’d like to strive to improve the FRA score, I’m curious if anyone has passed with say 50- 70 in FRA before? And how did you fare in Level 2?
Completely possible to pass FRA without 70+, a high mark in FRA just sets you up nicely. Say you get a 60 on FRA you just need a 73 on rest of exam to get 70+.
Ok, thanks for the answers… it seems like a more balanced approach is called for.
I’ve been getting about 80+ % on my strong sections (i.e. Quant, Equities, Fixed Income, PM) and 70’s in my moderate sections (Corp, Econ, Derivatives.)
Ethics is a mixed bag… very volatile scoring… I sometimes get all of the questions right, sometimes half.
FRA I struggle to score over 60%.
My strategy from this point on is to do questions from the Q-bank as follows:
Set 1: Ethics Only
Set 2: FRA Only
Set 3: Everything else (all topics except FRA and Ethics.)
And I’ll cycle through Set 1 on one day, Set 2 the next, Set 3 the day after, then Set 1 after that etc…
