Hi All - As the subject stated, do you guys take notes when studying? I have done it for Quant and Econ (for each LOS) and it takes me considerably more time than to read the sections. Any suggestions? What works best for you guys personally?
Ideal world would be that I read, highlight and practice CFAI eoc questions. However, I am more worried about review for the final month when surely I will have forgotten a good deal of stuff. Anyway, any well-to-do input is much welcome!
i took zero handwritten notes for level i and just put everything i felt i wanted to recall into a giant anki deck…doing the same thing for level 2…much easier to copy paste than write things down…
I do, especially difficult cases write a couple of times until I feel I cover it well. Also do OneNote and MS Word notes, graphs and equation solving from various internet sources. Those notes (except handwritten) are synced through all my devices and I can study and repeat everywhere as in doctoral waiting rooms, government offices, during boring events, in restaurants etc.
I write a lot of notes and it takes more time to go through the material. However, I think it helps my retention. I need a second pass over later but that is where it sticks, and I take no notes on the pass over except things I couldn’t recall. So, the second pass over is pretty quick for me.
