I think the marketing team at Kaplan doesn’t really know what’s going on. This brochure makes sense if you’re comparing the November 2011 FRM curriculum to the November 2010 FRM curriculum – there are a bunch of new readings for 2011. But there are no changes between the May 2011 FRM and the November 2011 FRM curriculum. The May and November exams every year are based on the same content. If one of your buddies bought study materials for the May FRM 2011 exam, you can the same materials for the November FRM 2011 exam.

I think there was a massive change in the readings between November 2010 and May 2011 (30% or so) but I’d definitely check with GARP that there haven’t been any more for this sitting. My girlfriend was going to do it in May but realised (too late) that she didn’t have the correct mateials (or not enough to sit the exam). She’s doing it with the new books in November
