I go out for lunch yesterday and was surprised to see how many people in business professional/casual drinking during lunch. Is it a common occurrence for people to drink during working hours? Typically I go to the cheap take out places for lunch and rush back to work. Sitting down for a meal away from my desk is something I rarely do.
You should go out more, dude. Yes is not that uncommon, especially on Fridays. Nothing wrong with coming back to work half drunk if you know your stuff. Of course depends on: country you live in, the company, your boss, your role, if have afternoon meetings, etc.
Does this explain the “Weekend effect” anomaly?

Standard I(D) - Misconduct. You’re welcome!
Here in Germany it’s almost taboo ! You drink your apple juice soda to the last bubble and talk about boring stuff.

I can’t talk about character or personality, but based solely on physical appearance, Russian women are arguably the most beautiful in the world.

But yeah, when they start talking… or, more accurately, demanding, that’s when the fun really starts. I do realize that women with beauty and brains are entitled to demand some things, but I find that most of the Russian women I’ve met overvalue themselves on a risk-adjusted basis and expect their men to overvalue them too. I felt I was always trying to live up to some Russian Fairy Tale with princes and princesses. Not only did I not know the fairy tales (not being Russian myself), but not even Russian men live up to the fairy tales (though Russian men seem to know how to give the *appearance* like they are living up to them). Note: I normally dislike making generalizations of this sort, but this one has played itself out so many times for me (I tell myself “this time it’s different” each time around) that this is one nationality that I’ve started to just accept that maybe some generalizations are worth remembering. Thank God I have my Brazilian friends to keep me sane.
OK, I regret having posted the above. I really don’t like classifying entire continents of people like that, and runs against my normal nature. I am willing to chalk it up to the inherrent difficulties of cross-cultural relationships and just say that this is what it repeatedly feels like on my side of the divide. Mostly, I just liked my initial joke, but somehow it evolved into more laundry-airing than I really intended. Enough vodka for one night, methinks.
Where did you meet all those Russian women?

Excuse me, is this some kind of funny way to talk which is on purpose because your are on AF, or do you actually “value women on a risk-adjusted basis” ???
Yes. I have been known to make a joke from time to time here, usually when writing. That said, evaluating relationships on a “risk adjusted basis” isn’t really so bizarre, is it? It basically means valuing the stuff you like about someone, projecting into the future, and figuring out if you’ll be able to put up with the stuff you don’t like about someone. Maybe in the end you decide that you won’t demand quite as much beauty or quite as much intelligence simply because someone else is kinder, more tactful, and easier to get along with.

^ Mandatory? Liar.
