Drunk and Day Drunk and Mad Men

Yep, I’m buzzin bros.

Feeling super lucid though. You know the feeling. Thoughts are flowing crisp.

The question? Why can’t we get drunk anymore during the day like they do in madmen?

I just wanna get drunk tomorrow while working.

I’m not going to though. Becuase it’s stigmatized.

Thats bullshit.

It’s total bullshit, and I blame it on the libs.

I’m going to bed.

^Respect. Most of my best ideas surface from the secluded subconcious after a few drinks.

And relationships

Come work in the city of London where liquid lunches on hot summer days are not unheard of!

what stigma? as long as you’re not falling over yourself or doing shots at your desk, what’s the drama?

just pop a breath mint and continue as normal.

I sometimes allow myself a pint of beer or a glass of wine at lunch. Firstly, I ensure I’m with the right colleagues. Secondly, we choose a place distant from the office, so no blah-blah may happen.

^ someone told me that until very recently beer wasn’t considered to be an alcoholic drink in Russia, it was considered more like a soft drink. Is that true? sounds like bullshit.

The old timers here in the office say they used to drink and smoke while working.

On a hot Friday afternoon before a long weekend I once went to a sushi place with my friend (colleague) and my gf (colleage too). We all got the 3 peice lunch special for $10 and then we decided to take sake bombs - well my girl pussed out bc she actually cared about her job but him and i had enough to develop a strong buzz. In all honesty, the remaining half of the day was probably my most productive and successful during my 3 years at this firm. Perhaps it was the optimism experienced right before vaca, maybe the buzz loosened me up and made me a better employee, or maybe i was too drunk to comprehend how bad my work actually was. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend you do this tomorrow.

Beer has always been considered an alcoholic drink, however until recently you could buy it 24/7 in shops or street kiosks, virtually anywhere. Then they banned the sale of beer in street kiosks after 11pm (you could obly buy beer in street kiosks, no hard stuff sold there), so you had to go to supermarket to buy beer after 11pm, then I think they banned it in kiosks at all.

The very recent move is that you cannot buy any alcohol after 11pm. I was very surprised when they didn’t allow me to buy a bottle of beer around midningt. This def applies to Moscow. Other places may have different legislation.

I know that it can be pulled off, but, I’m saying that it shouldn’t be like “oh hey I’m not drinking, dont mind me”. It should be “JEN, WE NEED MORE ICE IN HERE! STAT!”

We get liquid lunches quite often around my office, and if there’s not much to do we’ll have some whisky or beers in a boardroom friday afternoon. But I really wish it wasn’t taboo while actually doing work… reading fountainhead right now and they keep asking if the architect wants some scotch while he drafts. lucky sob.

I’m toldy office used to have drinking parties every Friday a few years ago. Still no corporate rule against drinking at lunch, but it isn’t the culture anymore.

I’m told my office used to have drinking parties every Friday back in the day. Still no corporate rule against drinking at lunch, but it isn’t the culture anymore.

Drinking in the office is pretty commonplace in Silicon Valley. My office always has two different kegs on tap. Another place had beer and wine gardens every Friday with cheese, crackers, etc.

No one abuses it.
