E-book version for use on iPad

I’m toying with the idea of supplementing the CFAI text with their e-book version for use on an iPad. I’ll be doing alot of travelling towards the end of this year and like the idea of a more travel friendly version. Curious if anyone has any experience with this.

I’m interested in this as well. Gives me a great excuse to buy an iPad!

I have used the ebook version on my iPad. That was very good.

I found it to be a pain in the butt if trying to use it to do EOC questions. I would use it again as a supplement to the hardcopy books, but I would not use it as the sole source of CFAI materials again.

Because the text doesn’t wrap as you enlarge it, it’s not an ideal solution. But it does come in handy when you simply can’t carry those books around. Oddly, the app went through a major improvement just after the exam. Text searches are now a lot easier.

I added the ebook ipad version in addition to the books; I only used the books for EOC questions for the most part. The ipad makes it really portable. As mentioned before, its more searchable now, so its definitely an improvement. For the extra ~$50 I will simply add it on again; that and the CFA Flashcard app I bought were worth every penny. Best ROI ever. TO think I passed using such chinzy aids and a good friend failed using Schweser…

dracop:where did you donwload ebook ipad version? I tried once and it was awful, to open next page was slow and the letter was not crisp.

I used the iPad ebook version from vital source, and it was totally worth it - as far as reading was concerned. For EOC questions I preferred going back to the text books. But I would still pay those few extra bucks for the portability it brings.

My experience mirrors that of others - I prefer to books if I’m studying single subjects (it’s much easier to flip through pages) - while during the review, having easy access to all the books at the same time electronically was a great feature.
