Greetings and congratulations to the L1’ers, as for the L2 retakers, its a hard test and I have rarely seen or heard of ppl who pass L2 from the first try, its ok, you have it easier this time around. Days after taking the L1 exam I ran into a friend who had read the 11th Hour and who had used the Elan mocks, (passed too), i asked to look at the materials and was amazed at how similar the style and format of both the MOCK and the 11th hour were to CFAI text. I contacted Elan to see what they had in store for us for 2011, and this what I received from this, thought it might be helpful to post: “Hi, Congratulations on passing the CFA Level I exam, and thank you for expressing an interest in our Level II products. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer our entire line of products for June 2011 Level II candidates. The Level II products that we will release for June 2011 candidates are: 1. The Eleventh Hour Review Guide 2. Mock Exams 3. Lecture videos for Fixed Income, Derivatives and possibly FRA. We will start taking orders for our Level II products later this year. Rest assured that all our products will be sold at very affordable prices. Sample videos will also go up later this year. We are deeply sorry that we will not have all our Level II products ready for you. However, we are confident that the entire range of Level II products (including Élan Study Notes) will be ready for June 2012 Level II candidates. Congratulations once again, and best of luck with Level II Regards, Élan Guides” If any of you have seen the materials and loved them as much as i did lets all contact them and ask for them to release even if in tranches, some of the material. I heard lots of positive comments about Elan L1 package (They are even generous enough to offer bereavement discount to non-customers who did not pass, for any product you choose. In contrast S**tweser limit the discount to premium package only) But it seems Elan have already decided there will be no L2 notes and package for June 2011, and only for 11th hour, mock, and a small set of video. It seems the study option for those who don’t like S**tweser is: CFAI books + EOC + Elan mocks + CFAI mock + 11th hour + pray for yourself.
i’ll be sticking to the praying mostly, as i have a feeling this beast will kill me!
Stalla is pretty thorough
But Stalla is expensive though.
i tried stalla for level1 but didnt like it, felt it was too wordy, to each his own i guess
