I would definitely put it on your e-mail signature. It looks classy and boy you’ll sure stick it to those suckers who aren’t as accomplished as you. Have fun with it! Stick it on your email address at your new company too. They’ll think they got you at a bargain!

They’ll think they got you at a bargain! has to be a joke, i say dont do it and be over with this thread. i thought level 1 was the sh** when i passed, now that i started level II, level 1 means nothing. level 2 is gonna put real hair on my chest, guys. i had 2 interviews this week, and the interviewers both has charters – they said, level 2 is the real game in town.
Daj…I’m lost for words. But you crack me up
Nimrod, can I have your job?
You can’t put “L2 Candidate” until you get your CFAI books, but in the meantime you can put “Warren Flaffet, CFA L1 expert.” That’s sufficient to stick it to them, and looks sharp. Then you can turn on the heel of your Doc Marten’s “dress shoes,” and walk out with your head held high, as you remotely unlock the doors to your Pontiac Sunfire and drive home, rockin’ to Limp Bizkit. D!ck.
I don’t think being lame or cheesy is much of an issue if your name is Warren Flaffet… Which i’m sure it’s not… But got to go on a list of worst names… If your employer doesn’t respect that you passed when the others failed, then they’re not worth the slap in the face so I wouldn’t stoop to doing it… If you want a good resignation letter, search bankersball.com There’s a few funny ones there, including a giant bird made out of brackets and asterisks… Or you could just not send an email at all and just stop showing up… a manager at my firm did that… To quote him at 2:15pm on a Friday afternoon “I’m just stepping out for a minute, I’ll be back soon” He never came back… (and he’s not dead or anything, just moved to a place down the street)
this is what I added to the resignation letter for my employer: A very practical thought, An undervalued asset is sought to be hunted by entrepreneurs, so they got me !!! I was highly undervalued in this sh*t hole , so im moving on… plus the package is almost 2x what I initially getting. its time to upgrade from B7 RS4 to the C6 RS6
Very unfortunate, but its best to leave quickly and quitely.
What you’ve written is correct, but I’d leave it off. It’s not a slap in the face to management unless you’ve asked for a role or a new career path and they have told you “Sorry, but you’ll never get anywhere here”. Chances are your manager won’t give a toss, especially since you’ve only passed L1. If you were a black belt in finance and the Chuck Norris of the industry, then maybe he would be sad to see you go. But labour markets are free and fluent. No one is irreplaceable these days. Sorry to burst your bubble (with a Chuck Norris flying kick), but that’s just my advice.
if your employer sees you write CFA L2 candidate ( a lame thing to do) in your signature he is not gonna feel sorry for loosing you !!! and why take a chance with something like this. what if it was a violation
This is like Nacho Cheese Grande. Very very cheesy. like very.
you could also write douche bag as your signature as well. Best never to burn bridges leave if off and go on your merry way. You never know if you’ll be working with those same people at a latter date. Also passing level I is great but not that great bragging like that just make you look like a johnson rod
why not put in a sacarstic comment in your resignation letter instead of the full on “level II candidate” in signature?
Leave it off the signature. If you REALLY must flaunt the fact that you passed, include something in the body of the resignation letter such as: “I am grateful for the opportunities this organization has afforded me, including the experience and support which helped me to pass the first CFA exam.” Candidate on a resume is ok. Sticking “candidate” in your signature makes you look like a young, immature clown.
I think you should really stick it to them. Add the CFA stuff and also add what you plan to do in your career to really drive the point home. I have a feeling they will indeed then realize how much they will miss you.
Opinions aside, I believe you are only an L2 candidate if you have registered for the next exam. So if you haven’t, then you are in violation. Violation aside, a lot of people in this industry know eachother and i wouldnt want to hire someone that thought they were a big swinging d just because they passed level 1 with several thousand other eager units of labor who might be more modest.
I re-thought this question and now I believe that not only should OP put L2 candidate in there but also show his L1 pass marks for each subject. If he uses a small enough font he should be able to have a concise but powerful signature line.
This has got to be the funniest thread on this entire forum. I am amazed how funny these analysts are. The L3 crowd I got to know while taking L3 wasnt so sharp. This thread cracks me up big time.
I think you should start popping your collar too…
