Today I opened one of the CFAI books for the first time. I have exclusively used Schweser for levels 1 and 2 and they served me very well. I always felt very well prepared and saw few curveballs that I didn’t see in the Schweser curriculum (a few on level 1 June 2008 and non on level 2 2008). I heard from a friend that the EOC questions in the CFAI book are a must for level 3, especially in regards to Portfolio Management. I took a looked at a few today and I have to say they are pretty good and even contain a few curve balls not seen in the CFAI text or Schweser. For example, substituting the rate of inflation on medical devises for the CPI in Reading 20, Question 6 (page 450, Volume 2). My question is this: does anyone know if the EOC questions are written by the same people who write the exam?
Apprarently not. If you want to know more about the exam process, read this http://cfainstitute.org/cfaprog/overview/pdf/IntoOur5thDecade.pdf
