Heard this happen at Enron back in 2001… When a bunch of people were let go they were not taken off the pay roll and contuined to get paid every two weeks for months. The person who was suppose to remove them from the pay roll was laid off much sooner and was not able to get to everyone. Since the firm could not catch it and no one picked them up they got to keep the money. Fast forward 2008… this happen to me!!!
Good stuff. Though actually, Enron randomly paid tons of people to throw the forensic accountants off.
