Answer is A. I’ve hated these questions but have come to accept it. You can only be suspended for a conviction of a non financial/investment industry crime. An arrest for financial crime can lead to a suspension.
But why do you suppose the court barred him specifically from working in the investment industry?

Question is very simple. Charge is murder and court acquitted him. So why would CFAI still punish a member for not commiting the crime? How would an acquittal damage the investment profession in genetal?
I HATE THIS QUESTION. I PICKED A B/C I RECALL IT SAYING ALL ARREST = BAD STUFF UNLESS FOR A POLITCIAL DEMONSTRATION… UGGGGGGGGGGHHH!!! AT LEAST I GOT IT RIGHT. MY GOAL IS TO DO ETHICS IN 10 MIN OR LESS SO I CAN GET TO ASSET VALUATION. I SPENT 10 MINUTES TODAY ON ONE DDM PROBLEM, THAT ASKED FOR ROE, G, RR, DPO, DPS, CAPM, AND REAL RISK FREE
kochunni69, the court found him innocent of murder, but it barred him from ever operating in the investment industry. you must always be in compliance of local laws or the cfa standards of professional conduct, whichever is stricter. a serious violation must have occurred for the court to bar him from operating in the industry and his CFA membership will almost definitely be suspended.
f@@k…I didn’t read the answer carefully. It happens always with me. Sorry guys Thanks Super!
A good question is why would he need the charter if he can’t work in the investment industry anyway?
I would say A, although it does say suspended from using the CFA designation, which would imply he would be able to use it again. Each scenario however would indicate that he is never going to be using the designation again.
there are no ‘all/none of the above’ questions on the actual exam right?
