Hi, An investment banker arrives drunk at his company’s holiday party ( meant for employees and their spouses) and makes inappropriate advances towards many of the female employees and jokes about the inadequacies of the company’s management. According to Schweser, he is in violation of both Code of Ethics and Standards of prof conduct. I don’t see how he is in violation of Standards of prof conduct. Thanks, MG.
Such act reflect poorly on his profession.
Yeah I got this one ‘wrong’ too. You can make an argument that he is violating 1D misconduct, or 7a-conduct as members and candidates in the CFA program. You can also argue that he violates code of Ethics ‘Diligence, integrity, and respect…to members in the financial markets’. Personally I have problems with this question because 1) I don’t see a holiday party as being a ‘professional’ event. 2) The word ‘inappropriate’ ‘jokes’ ‘drunk’ are subjective opinions. IMO its definitely not a break of standards, and code of ethics is highly murky
