Ethics Question-Husband/wife

Husband/wife… both working in finance jobs. They routinely discuss possilibility of clients entering mergers, etc. Has they violated Standard of confidentiality(Yes/No) and Standard of Material non-public information(Yes/No)? My guess is No/No…any ideas?

Confidentiality definitely yes (unless the client allows dissemination of information), they breach III.E Preservation of confidentiality. If they trade on the information they gain from each other, or cause others to trade, then they do breach II.A. material nonpublic information.

That makes sence. Thanks alot!

Yes, Yes…

I hate ethics questions like these. Are we suppose to assume that the information shared is non-public???
