ethics question

Why telecommunications?? Is it not redundant? Telecommunication is a Fax or email, both written; and telecommunication is Oral over the phone or fax, written So, in my view, Oral and written covers it. Got the question right, but it is a BULL**** question! What is distinction? According to CFA Institute Standards of Professional Conduct, which of the following statements about the prohibition against plagiarism is most correct? The prohibition against plagiarism applies to written materials: A) oral communications, and telecommunications. B) only. C) and oral communications only. Your answer: A was correct! The prohibition against plagiarism applies to all three areas.

Telecommunications includes e-mail and fax, which B does not include nor C.

understood, however the question states" The prohibition against plagiarism applies to written materials:" email and fax are written. so the completed statement would read " The prohibition against plagiarism applies to written materials and oral communications only. email and fax are a method of delivery of a written material. telecommunication would also be a method of delivery of an oral communication. The form of plagiarism is in the content, not the delivery. That is my argument!

I think you’re overanalyzing the question. I’m pretty sure by “written material” they are implying documents written by pen and paper.

most likely so, but I figured that if they are going to be sticklers i should have a little fun with it, got to break it up a bit to maintain sanity two days b4 test.
