Ever hear of Sharp Seminars CFA Classes?

So I stumbled across this http://sharpseminars.com/

And they offer a “pass or money back” guarantee for their classes. You don’t get 100%, you pay some $50 setup fee, but it’s like $1500

Seems too good to be true? Anyone heard of it?

Wish Stalla out of the mix, the oligopoly of study providers is dismantled. You’ll see an influx of small providers offering great promos to take market share from Schwes.

yea, i took it but there are certain conditions you have to meet. like pass 70% or more on all hw assignments and the practice exam and such. overall, it was pretty decent because we focused on the key topics that always shows up on the exam and skipped on the little things. the classes were small so it was easy to ask questions during class and discuss certain topics that you found hard.

Sharp has been around for at least several years. The most unusual thing about Sharp is that their CFA courses are based around their own proprietary SharpNotes, rather than Stalla or Shwesser or CFAI notes. There are a half-dozen small CFA prep providers in NYC, and most-or-all offer some kind of repeaters’ discount. One major difference between these providers and the NYSSA offering is class size: NYSSA classes are typically 150-200 students, while a Sharp class would be more like 15 candidates. Even Stalla and 7city classes were/are typically under 30 students per class. When you are teaching 15 students in a hotel ballroom with capacity 100, there isn’t much of a downside to offering a deep discount to repeaters.

Have you taken this? What should I expect?

I never took a Sharp class. But if I was still a CFA candidate and was determined to take a NYC-area live class, I would probably consider Sharp and other smaller providers. Who wants to be in a lecture with 200+ other students? I’ve done that, and it is not for me. In fact, live classes in general didn’t appeal to me: after a 10 hour day at work, I was in no mood to spend another 3 hours in a classroom in midtown. I found lecture-videos-on-CD to be a much more comfortable way to cover the same material.

Hi, After taking Sharp Seminars, did it help you during the exam ? I’m curious beause I registered for the couse. Kindly advise.
