AM: 6 or 7 PM: 2 or 3
House money is in the CFAI text, don’t think it’s in scheweser. I would never have got it if I didnt go to a kaplan prep course and the instructor was a CFA grader, the kaplan mindmaps explicitly mention house money. AM was 6 (easier than 2007 and 2008 I think) PM was 1 or 2 (tho I still messed up a few things)
AM- scarily easy, PM for the first 4 questions, also easy, so up to about 3:00 PM, a 2. Then a 8. Then the last two questions back to 2. So either I am an idiot who has no clue, or studied really well.
Some questions tested are out of the scope of CFAI’s LOSs ?
i’m starting to think i may have failed. i thought the am was pretty difficult. i agree that the pm felt easy, but i wonder if i made more mistakes than i think i did. you have to love the after exam af mind fck…
AM: 7 (I did not have time to finish all the questions. I would probably have done only 6 or 7 questions) PM: 2 (It’s the easiest itemset/set of questions I have taken in all the levels).
AM: 8 (also didn’t have time to finish the questions, was literally scribbling down unintelligible incorrect answers by the end just to write down SOMETHING!!) PM: 2-3, felt quite solid after the session… gave me some hope of balancing out!!
2 to 3? Is this on a scale of 10? Please. Overconfidence. Perhaps selective memory of only winners. And some of those winners may have been losers, but you don’t know it yet as the wrong answer was one of the choices. CFAI loves do to that.
bhill, what did you think of the exam?
now that i see all my mistakes i understand that it was a lot more difficult than i hoped for. I got tricked!!! Damn!
AM I agree was surprisingly straight-forward. However, based on the number of people around me who were still frantically writing in the final seconds, I think some may have experienced time constraint issues. Balancing time constraint and difficulty level, perhaps a 5 - 6. After the morning, I expected a tough afternoon. PM More challenging technically than the AM, but tons of time. Ethics/AMC were straightforward, but from there on it was increasingly difficult throughout IMO. Sure, it could have been more “technically challenging” but there were plenty of tricky questions (just take a look at the discussion boards!) If it were only a 2 - 3 difficulty level, there wouldn’t be so many top level writers on AF coming up with different answers to the same questions. I’d say PM was a 6.5 - 7.5. Far from a 9, but more challenging than the Sample Exams, which I would have rated a 5 to 6.
Exactly. IMHO - anybody who rates the PM a 1, 2 or even 3, likely thinks they rocked it, but may be in for a rude awakening. i think that is a good assessment, bhill. i’m afraid the pm felt easier than it actually was. we’ll see. i thought the am was pretty difficult but fair. probably would say 7 or so… i have to add a disclaimer that i am freaking terrible at guessing how well i have done on tests…
Some of us here may ‘happily fail the exam’ like Schweser calls it. You feel pretty good about yourself but then you turn out to have been tricked on every single question in the PM.
I feel decent about it, better than level 2. I remember after level 2 i had an extra 6-8 unaccounted for wrong answers just from reading this forum. So far this year only like 2.
Well, at least AFers seem to be unsure about a lot of the same questions. Most of the ones I flagged, I am seeing on here. It is comforting to see that others (esp. AFers) were unsure of the same ones. As long as I bat 50/50 on those iffy Qs, I am comfortable. But yeah, I’m a little scared of the PM too. Need to find a way to just forget about this thing until Aug 18.
Same here. Somehow I keep on referring to this forum even though I know it doesn’t help me in any way. Last year lots of guys I never heard of before were discussing exams and actively defended their wrong answers as if it would help anything. I only read the remarks of ‘familiar’ names and take them for what they’re worth. At this stage I’m quite pleased, it’s indeed some 50/50 on the iffy Q’s, some stupid mistakes elsewhere but nothing like overlooking a key thing in an entire vignette that may push me off the cliff.
AM 8 PM 1
Saw people leaving the room 1hour and 30mins before the end. I personally was 80% done by that time. After 2 hours decided to check all questions again (seem to make only one change) and left the exam room just 30mins beofre the end. Uncomparable to L2 pm session of last year
While doing it I didnt find it very difficult. But now, after having seen all the answers here on AF, I have made so many mistakes and have definately failed. It sucks…
