Anyone else have an exit interview with their direct manager? Isn’t it supposed to be HR or some unrelated person? Kind of caught me off guard, I mean what are you supposed to say? Too easy to burn a bridge, too painful to smile and say all is so cheery…
totally should be with HR, altho my manager sort of informally tried to pry information out of me. what was wrong… where are you going… can we do anything to change your mind, etc.

Mine was with both the CEO [direct manager] and Director of HR - and they made it clear that existing clients were “hands off” for me. They actually highlighted the clause in my exit letter [basically a repeat of my non-compete clause]. Willy
