Extending Duration in a Fixed Income Portfolio

Has anyone ever used something like this to extend duration in a portfolio? https://www.spdrs.com/product/fund.seam?ticker=lwc

Well it might alter the portfolio duration but its also changing a lot of other variables including credit risk, credit spread, spread duration… If you just want to add duration and you cant use derivatives, you are better off with a Treasury ETF. PIMCO has a Treasury zero ETF with a duration of 25 years

Why do you want to extend portfolio’s duration NOW?

I was thinking that same thing.
