Read about ad burn iin the past and am actually experiencing it now, I think. So I’m running fb ads. A few weeks ago I had an ad running that was getting amazing click through rates (clicks over impressions). All of the sudden my clicks drop after a couppe weeks of running it. Is it fb ad burn? Maybe I thought. Among social ad guys, its said your once ad shows in front of the same pwrson three times the chance they click plummits. However, this doesn’t apply as fb tracks your frequency ( the number of times a unqie user sees ypur ad). Mine has steadily been 1. Well did the audience change over the two week period? No, my targeting was set for exact same audience, yet ad burnout occured regardless. So how does an ad getting well above average clicks go to almost no actvity even though the audience has not chnaged and the typical too much frequency explanation doesn’t apply? Bots? Fb has been accused before. One more thing leads me to think bots are prevelant to the point it could be a large percentage of fb reveneue. I had anothet ad promoting anothet post that really begged to be commented on, and gave lottle to no incentive to like the post- unles maybe you had all ready commented. So, I run the ad, I get a few comments and a fuckin shitload of likes. Liking this post without oosting is just a strange thing to do. Over 200 likes and 10% commented when the entire post reveolved around making a comment. fb ads are sketching me out recently. Posting from phone will edit oater.
I can’t speak from a business perspective but as a client (user) i can say i have not once clicked on an add from fb.
I personally think the ads are worthless but I don’t know if I’m representative or not. I have a supernatural ability to not even see the ads to be honest. Friends I have in marketing have all said they don’t use facebook anymore because the ROI is terrible. I think the whole business is kind of a scam.
