My 401k contribution bought more shares this pay cycle than it did last pay cycle ! And I didn’t even have to increase my contribution amount. What a deal !

When are you going to Vail? I am probably going March 5-8.
P.S. Vail is great in the spring - the rockies are the only way to go Unless you’ve got tickets to Vegas during March Madness. Which is my situation. It’s good to have things to look forward to, huh?

Im going 12-18th numi and philip… I actually havent started studying lvl 2 yet. I’m not really worried about it right now. Just took the 86 this am, taking the 87 in ~2 weeks.
I cut my own hair last night after coming home from the bar, so my weeks not so hot. I did however learn how to creatively use gel.
So on Jan 28, I figure that the rise on terrible jobs report might mean that bad news is mostly priced in and take a small position in IWM (Russel 2000 ETF). Instantly it starts going down. Oh well, at least I have a stop placed for risk control, and I’m expecting some volatility. Today, at 3:05, at the VERY LOW of the day, it just trips my stop order, and the market shoots up at the close. Bought at the top; sold at the bottom. Couldn’t have possibly done a better job even if I were trying to do it. Days like this you think Mr. Market is out to get you personally. But thank God for money management rules. At least I risked only a small bit of my total capital on that one.
Positive news in 2009: Had great family gettogether for Xmas/New Years, caught up with some close family who I haven’t seen in a long time Have job, got bonus Passed CFA L1 Met bunch of cute girls over last few weeks Remembered a forgotten bank account from student years with some serious dough in it Lost 5 pounds Visited several historical landmarks
I just got promoted today. Sure beats getting fired! JasonU - what sector are you going to be covering? And, thanks for the pick-me-up.
Congratulations, mcthorp – how did the compensation turn out for you? Was it exactly as you described in your other thread? Positive news for numi in 2009: - Still have job - Joined the board of another non-profit organization - Going skiing again in a couple weeks - Keeping in shape - Dated someone for about a month and enjoyed some nice benefits, only to find out from her recently that she just needed more space to herself. No more benefits from her, unfortunately. On the bright side, I’m still in good graces with her friends (who just insist that she’s emotionally confused and not actually that disinterested), and since she and I are officially on “break,” that means I’ve freed myself from the shackles of Valentine’s Day. Time to go gangbusters on Singles Awareness Day – best night of the year to meet eligible bachelorettes. - Following up on the previous bullet, I’m thinking about touching base with this girl again after the weekend. In light of the current sociopolitical climate, I was thinking about suggesting to her that we come up with our own version of the “stimulus plan.” At the risk of losing a friend or getting punched in the face, it might just be worth seeking her approval of this bill.
numi - I was hoping for some feedback from you since you took a look at my resume about a year ago. I was given the title, but everything else is as expected. I’ll take it and make the best of it - it IS a promotion, I have a job, a paycheck and a potential payoff at the end of the trial run. Like I said: it sure beats getting fired! And, good luck on S.A.D., I hear cupid’s arrow is sharp!
How is the non-profit board work coming along, numi?
