I’ve found myself getting distracted too easily by the TV/Internet at home and my productivity took a huge jump when I discovered the quiet Starbucks of the local Barnes & Noble. I’ve also developed an incentive system where I reward myself with a piece of cheesecake whenever I study for 3 hours or more
Weekdays, me and a coworker of mine who is also level two take one of the classrooms in our training area. Basically a classroom that is dead quiet in the mornings. Regular seats/tables/flourescent lights Weekends I use our IT CEO Conference Room. This is the room where the high ups of our IT dept have their meetings. Its got adjustable track lighting, commander-style seats that recline quite a bit, and is always fully stocked with beverages. Also gives me computer access. Of course i like to sit at the head of the table
In a train. No TV, no internet, no fridge, no distractions at all. I read the better part of FI on the TGV to Paris and back (10 hours). Now I’m at home and instead of doing the Private Equity stuff your post distracted me…

Panera. Better lighting, cushioned seating, free refills. Drawbacks include noisy kids (iPod is mandatory), crazy people muttering to themselves. Conveniently located across the streets from a Five Guys which makes for a natural incentive structure.

You can all study at Ali’s house. Just as long as you’re quiet
Coffee shops are what work for me. Plenty of caffine to keep you going. As long as you can avoid the gaze of the hipsters you’re golden.
nice spelling of the word “favorite” are you British?
Yeah. Damn those hipsters. If those guys would just stop bitching about their photography class maybe I could get some work done… also, women between the ages of 14 and 22 are really starting to bother me… of course I’m probably just grumpy from too many sacrificed weekends at this point.
usually in my living room. The idea of panera is intriguing, but I don’t think I can study with an Ipod going. I need silence.
u spelled favourite wrong - u bloody wanker : )
Busted; the British educational system has left its imprint on me. Colour…neighbour…flavour…maths…there I feel much better now!

Colour… yes… yes… that’s the way to write it. Neighbourhood, humour… centre, calibre… organise… modelling, signalling, travelling… A few spelling-lessons in school long ago, at age 9+, have left an unerasable impact. The Brits exported their spelling rules, meticulously taught to us through our educational system.
