I think we should have different subforums: College student, entry level, mid career, seasoned professional, big kauhna, etc

So many people clearly and obviously misrepresent themselves here. I’m not going to mention anyone specific, but everyone knows who they are.

The Fidelity reference refers to a post where someone said MBAs right out of school can make $200K at Fidelity as a junior analyst/PM role. IHIHM found that salary to be ridiculously high and perpetuated his disbelief with Chuck Norris’esque Fidelity references in subsequent posts.

Abigail Johnson walked down the street on a cold day. No one survived.

I’d hope that someone would make 200K at Fidelity in 1st year out of MBA. I think this is a credible figure considering these hires are out of top 5 programs and you could make more in IB or working for any decent HF in NY.

So, uh… I don’t think we can lump all people who work for Fidelity into the same basket. Like any other financial firm, Fidelity has quants and traders who are paid big Wall Street money. They also have a large retail brokerage with hundreds of small time “advisors” who are paid low salaries despite working in the same company. So yeah, I bet there are people who earn 200k at Fidelity right out of MBA programs. There are also other who earn less.
