from a monetization standpoint it makes sense to implement a voting system. it will drive up the amount of traffic per thread significantly. and yes it may drive up the amount of troll accounts used, but again that gives you more bargaining power for advertisements and recruiters who wish to post content on this site.
Ex- i post a comment on a thread that I think will be useful to the OP. I am more likely to frequent back to the site to see if people found my insight useful.
