Hey guys , i would like to know if financial modeling is a necessity for someone who is looking for an equity analyst job or it is something that can be taught during the job training program. If it is not included in the job training program, i would like to know if there is any good book to buy that will help me build one or take an online class that teaches financial modeling. At my university unfortunatly they do not have one. Thank you
A lot of people like Financial Modelling by Benninga. I’m guessing those are mainly people who haven’t read another. I didn’t really like it but it definitely has value. I found Advanced Financial Modelling by Jackson to be much better. I thought Benninga’s book didn’t know if it wanted to be an average Excel book or an average finance book. Kinda like Parcell’s line - If you have two quarterbacks, you have no quarterback.
you can learn any skill on the job…
