I purchased the FinQuiz materials to supplement CFAI and Schweser material. I’ve been very disappointed with the quality of these materials. No errata, tons of typos, mediocre questions; all in all, no bueno…
I just bought the Schweser Level III QBank yesterday for $299.99 and started working my way through it just to get some immediate feedback on areas that I need to review and focus on more. The questions are certainly not as challenging as the CFAI cirriculum, but they seem to give me a decent guage on which sections of the CFAI text I need to go back and review. Again, I’m not sure if the value-to-cost ratio is there or not with the QBank, but it seems to be decent for purposes of obtaining immediate feedback on specific areas of the cirriculum. I just wish the cost of the QBank was much less since I don’t plan on using it as my primary tool for review purposes.

I like finquiz a lot. It helped me a lot of level 1 and 2, and thus far I think its more detailed than Schweser and much easier to access summaries and do quick practice problems.
Besides a few mis spelled words, I don’t get why finquiz gets knocked. I think its better than schweser
I can say only about Finquiz Qbank.
This is true that questions are rather mediocre. But this stems from the fact that the questions are very detailed in nature, dry, difficult and probably not customized to the exam format or recqurements. Sometimes they are cut and pasted form cirriculum word by word. This is good and bad…
I have made 2000 questions, with overal socre on average 65% allocating 3min per questions (100 hours) and I’m not sure if all the details will be useful for real exam.
I have done recently couple of CFAI practice questions from CFAI website (easier) and can argue that all the details from finquiz are not necessary for someone who does not have +500 hours for learning.
Schewser qbank on the other hand is better in focusing on area that are mostly tested.
I agree that their questions are really crap but I’m finding their Smart Summaries to be a really useful revision tool. Combining Schweser notes and the Smart Summaries seems to be a good approach as the Smart Summaries are based directly off of the CFA books so its a good quick way of making sure you’re familiar with all of the topics and not just what is in Schweser.
Silly rabbit! FinQuiz should be purchased for the notes – not the questions.
The note and SMART SUMMARY are very useful! The essay question is good as well (But admit some answers are wrong…)
Is their essay practice set, item set useless?? can you recommend other materials??
Have to agree here. FinQuiz dropped the ball with their notes. Done a few item sets and it seems the same applies. The thing that really irks me is that in their notes they will describe something but provide an example on another document. Really breaks up the flow with studying.
Why can’t Wiley come out with level 3 materials?
They plan to have them available next Fall.
I’ll be developing the classroom materials.
So frustrating all around - many mistakes in the questions and answer explanations, really undermines the product. Rediculous that they refuse to produce errata
Stay with FinQuiz note and switch to Kaplan Qbank.
Are the mistakes core to the answers or incidental like gramer mistakes and typos? I’ve read in other threads positive views on FinQuiz tests. Contradicting extreme views
I haven’t gotten into the questions yet, but the notes have a lot of grammatical errors. Seems like they were written by someone who doesn’t have English as their first language.
This can be bad. A text with bad structure or grammar mistakes could interrupt my line of thoughts.
At this stage we should wrap up reading the books and start the exercises.
I’d say stay away from FinQuiz if you want to pass.
I bought it for level II studies and it turned out to be a disaster. Typos everwhere, wrong formulas, errors in answers of mocks.
Very disappointed and a waste of time and money. Thank God I switched to Elan and it helped me pass level II.

Should i buy the curriculum notes ?will they help revise topics in a fast manner…I just want to buy the notes and summaries…won’t have time to do question bank…I have seen some sample notes…they do cover the curriculum in a nice manner and they also suggest which curriculum example u should do with notes…so should I buy them and refer them for revision of some topics…I am not that much interested in summaries…
