Are you guys finding the FinQuiz mocks harder than the CFAI mocks? Or is it just me?
Hey Hodos, I attempted one FinQuiz AM Mock and it really pissed me off, haha. I feel like FinQuiz loves to ask obscure niche type questions that are definitely harder than CFAI mocks and Schweser mocks. I understand how that might sound like a great thing. But honestly it seems to me like it’s a defeatist exercise, it misses the point all together. Just like a good benchmark is one that is representative of a manager’s investment style, a good mock should be representative of a realistic CFAI exam. Keep in mind that this is just my personal opinion, some might have a different take on it all, so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt I guess.

I did most of Finquiz exams last year. I would say tha 25% of the questions were useful, the rest were a complete and total waste of time due to their obscurity. Find the old exams! Do them multiple times! Please don’t wait for the last month, that is such a dumb mistake.
Find them on the internet and do the last 5 years AM papers multiple times. Start now.
Since readings are added and removed each year how far do you go back before you are doing questions that really have little relation to what you’ll study?
More mock exams should be available as you get closer to test day. Your local society should offer some mock exam options. Boston CFA Society publishes one two.
