Can a firm with 7 years of existence initially claim GIPS compliance reporting only with the newest 5 years?

Yes, for the first GIPS compliant presentation and report.

i thought you have to report 5 years up to minimum of 10?

you can start with 5 . I think CPK answered this a wile ago .

years 6,7,8,9,10 can come in reporting years 2,3,4,5,6 I think
