Any of you guys suffer from Flat Feet, or more commonly known as fallen arches?
how have you delt with it? I noticed the problem has gotten serverely worst overtime. I used to be able to run for a long time but now walking for the same amount of time is giving me some pain.
If you have flat feet, this is known as “overpronation” and there are special shoes you can get to give you extra support. I also have flat feet and got foot pain from running long distances in some shoes. Switching to motion control shoes pretty much solved this problem.
i’m sitting at my desk after just walking down to get a coffee and my feet is numbing with pain…i think it has gotten worst lately due to the leg exercises I have been doing…
Well, at least if the US goes to war with Vietnam you don’t have to worry about being drafted. Although, you’re canadian so I guess you don’t need to worry about that anyway.
If we go, Canada’s coming with us whether they like it not! Seriously though, a trip to the podiatrist seems in order. I suspect he will provide some orthoses and you’ll be on your way to having arches again.
Men’s nipples exist for the same reason as women’s clits - sexual pleasure. No other reason. (Though there are anecdotes of widowed fathers nursing their children.)
I was considering making that anatomical comparison too, but decided to keep my posts a wee bit cleaner.
However, it’s worth pointing out that mens nipples are in some ways more sensitive than women’s nipples, for the same reason that the women’s “man in a boat” is more sensitive than our equivalent part. Short version: same number of pleasurable nerve endings (more or less) in a substantially reduced area.
My wife is the one who pointed out to me that I had flat feet. I guess it explains why I’ve always hated running and never liked long walks.
Where do you get the pains exactly? I’ve never had pains anywhere, it’s always just been a general discomfort (i.e. I’m running/walking and I just really want to stop and sit down). I always just thought it was laziness on my part and not something to do with my feet.
Yeah, it became a real issue in my mid twenties as when I was in junior/senior high I used to run a couple times a week. Then it got to the point where I couldn’t walk more then a few blocks without my hips hurting if I didn’t have insoles.
I now have orthotics so much of the day to day pain is going however running is simply out of the question for me. I think that there is a running technique people with flat feet can use that helps allievate the pain of conventional heal strike running. Id imagine relearning how to run can be quite difficult thought.
I am considering picking up running again as a social activity, but I have the same reservations as you do about that.
pain in the ankles, bottom of feet, knees etc…its concerning cause I’m just sitting here at a desk and i can feel it…i’m in my early 30s…and i been reading stuff like this just gets worst…i need to see a foot doctor…
