2:27 p.m. | Updated John Isner and Nicolas Mahut have been locked in an epic battle at Wimbledon, one stretching over two days. In a match that began Tuesday night and was suspended because of darkness after four sets, Isner and Mahut have now played the longest tennis match in history. Greg Bishop, who is covering the tournament for The Times, and John Martin and Geoff Macdonald, two Straight Sets contributors, are at Wimbledon and are sending updates. http://straightsets.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06/23/wimbledon-live-isner-vs-mahut/?src=mv
Currently 55-54 in the fifth set.
NO FRIKKING WAY. damn!
We have been discussing this in the back office.
This is the worst match ever. Shows that there should be a tie breaker in 5th set too
epic
Perhaps the Wimbledon board will consider implementing a rule where any set that reaches a 50-50 tie in the fifth set shall be decided by 7-point tiebreaker.
The winner of this match will probably lose the next match.
They play a guy who won 16-14 in the fifth.
Ha ha, probably going to be delayed again, a 3-day match…ha ha ha

Why the hell don’t they have lights at any of the majors besides the US Open? Postponing games is pretty annoying.
Why can’t they be like the greatest sport in the world and just tie? Stupid Americans…errr British
center court at Wimby now has roof so they could move the match there, but that would be unfair to both players as they have played 10 hours on court 18.
This is what happens when there are no vuvuzelas.
this is insane!! never ever will it happen again… ever!! but seriously, they should have a tie breaker in the fifth set as well now.

60-60
Saw some match highlights on Sportscenter this morning and Mahut was still diving for balls shortly before play was suspended yesterday. BTW, anyone know what the prize money is for advancing to the 2nd round?
