Just indicate if you passed or are taking it now, and when you guys are starting, or plan to start taking practice questions.
I started doing QBank along with 2nd pass of reading Schweser. First pass took me about 4-5 months, then second pass was under 2 months with QBank to go along. Then did practice exams in the last month along with 3rd pass of subject I struggled with (i.e. FRA).
I feel bad because I haven’t done any Qbank stuff yet. I’m doing all the readings and EOCs (and on pace to finish by the end of October). No Qbank questions yet.
what do you mean by 2nd pass? do you mean your second time trying to take it?
No, I meant the 2nd time I read Schweser.
I started doing them as soon as i read through all the material once. I can’t stress enough how important it is to do practice questions asap.
EDIT: i did pass the exam
how did you have time to read the entire Schweser Notes 3 times? It takes an average person to read around 15 pages an hour, including doing practice quesitons in the reading and wrapping your head around/trying to understand difficult concepts. This is based upon my own experience and based on other people’s estimates.
I’m a first time writer, will finish the schweser readings and all the eoc’s/concept checkers for the end of first week in November, then two weeks of review and Qbank, then one week off work for practice exams and all that. Should be goood
I’d personally give yourself more time for the mock exams. You’ll need to not only spend 6 hours a day writing these mocks (for each one), but then be able to also carefully go through each exam and revise what you missed and what you weren’t 100% sure on (another 3 hours at least).
I should clarify, I’ll do probably a full mock each weekend before so I can space it out a little better. That should leave 4 to do in that last week. I am curious what everybody’s thinking about doing on the Friday though? Gonna cram, a little light study, or just take the day off? At this point I figure I’ll just go over the formula sheet and then play video games or something. Calm before the storm.
Yeah, space them out a bit more. You really want to give yourself time to review your weaknesses. I spaced out the mocks in 1/2 exam chunks (i.e. 120 questions at a time) during the last month. After every exam I constructed an “anaylsis grid” of how I’d done, nothing hugely complicated, but somethign to give the breakdown of my scores from different perspectives (i.e. by section, by points, by percentages). Then I’d go through the exam and review everything I’d missed or wasn’t sure about and re-read relevant Schweser texts to make sure I understood stuff.
I did some light Schweser reading the last day. If you have Secret Sauce, then read this. I didn’t bother with mocks the last day. Need to give your brain a bit of a rest before the storm. I think I even watched a bit of TV.
One month for practice test is more than fine. You won’t really need much more than that. and you can combine practice test, EOC, BB…etc…etc
Dont worry when you read people reading the material 10x…that doesnt mean much, as you don’t know how much time/effort did they put on each read. as long as you read the material once thoughtfully, you should be fine. you might want to read for a second time a couple of readings you find hard to understand. But be careful with overdoing it and sacrificing problems time for reading time…that is a recipe for disaster…
