Hii folks…How did u all do in part I…??..I personally had a lot of time constraint…Did quite well in first 50 questions…But for the last 50 time was a major factor…Had to rush through questions after that…I was expecting a lot better than this…Was really disappointed coming out…I have also seen that its pass rate has been greater than that of CFA in the last few years…If the passing scores remains in 60-70 then I might stand a chance…But if it gets above 70 then its not looking good for me…I request other members to share their experience…All the best to everyone…
Hi Viraj, I feel the same way. I thought the test questions were quite fair and easy enough to answer but some of them just takes too long to compute because the calculations required several steps. So my strategy was to skip the questions which I thought would require a lot of time and instead go for the qualitative questions because they take a shorter time to answer. I guess my plan didn’t work coz what happened was I had about 25 calculation type questions left to answer and had only about 30 minutes left in the clock. So it was just not enough time to go properly go through all the calculation type questions I had left out. In the last 5 minutes, I ended up just guessing a bunch of questions… But I did not even get to finish my random guesses, and I soon heard the “TIME IS UP” announcement… I must have over-estimated the 5 minute final time check window. So I ended up leaving about 15 questions without any answer… So that was awful…!! I felt sick to my stomach after handing my test book, thinking to myself… if I had spared 1 more minute to just randomly guess those those 15 questions (had planned to write all ‘B’, if needed) then the expected value of additional points I could have gained is about 3 or 4 points (=15*0.25)… I hope this does not spell the difference in my failing or passing the exam… Good luck to you too. I hope we get positive news in 6 or 7 weeks…
That’s exactly what I was saying…the level of difficulty was not too much but time was the major killing factor…In the last 5 minutes I randomly marked all the answers that were left with ‘B’ for all…I knew the worst that could have happened with me was leaving the answers unmarked as there was no negative marking…So I randomly guessed arnd 15-20 questions at the end…Then among those randomly guessed I just gave a quick look if anyone of them were sitter questions…thankfully I got 4-5 very straightforward questions in the last 2-3 minutes which I then changed in their unusual fashion…!!I just hope all of us who have put their genuine efforts pass the test…
Can somebody recollect as to what was the answer for the question on Possion distribution.where lambda was 3 and x =5.The question was to calculate the probability for two years.
