Guys, (1) is there any good forum to discuss FRM preparation like this one for CFA?..or we can discuss it here? (2) should I use official FRM handbook…bcoz they say it is not completely in line with 2008 AIMS…there are some topics missing and some obsolete…anybody already dared or plan to read all core readings? (3) any candidate compared 2007 and 2008 AIMS? Thanks in advance

Just use Schweser and you’ll be fine… It’s easier than CFA.

I cleared CFA L1 in December 2006, Level 2 in June 2007 and have appeared for L3 in 2008. From personal experience, I can say that if you have gone through L2 and L3 of the CFA programme, FRM would be easier to handle. If not, I would recommend Schweser, instead of relying only on the handbook. The handbook, while covering all prescribed topics, presumes prior knowledge on many topics - which may not always be the case. Also, the gap between the topics/questions tested at the FRM examination and that covered in the course material would be much wider than in CFA. You would need to have a flair towards quantitative techniques and applied risk management to do well in FRM. Prior experience in risk management is also a pre-requisite. There are a few discussion forums on FRM (including at GARP website), but none anywhere exhaustive or interesting as this wonderful AF !
