Would it be advisable to go for FRM Part 1 along with the GMAT? Have GMAT scheduled in mid-December and am yet to begin the preparation.
Should I schedule FRM in November? Can anyone pls suggest?

IMO why messing your GMAT with FRM…with my limited understanding of both of these exams i dont think there is any overlapping content
Hi Lindsay,
I’m in a similar boat approaching the FRM while planning to take the GMAT in December for January application deadlines. The material does NOT overlap between the FRM and GMAT. However if your work experience or certifications overlap with some of the topics within the FRM Part I (such as the CFA levels 1-2), it may be doable!
I would recommend taking a GMAT practice test to see how much you need to improve to get into your target scoring range and consider looking at FRM Part I practice qs. If you have a quant background or experience in risk management, then I would go for it.
Thankfully GMAC changed the required time between GMAT exams from 30 days to 16, so if you completely bomb the GMAT you can take it again around the holidays.
I took the gmat while studying for a frm exam. I wouldn’t recommend it if you are aiming to kill the gmat for a MBA app – the gmat will have a far greater impact on your life than the frm exam if a mba is the route you have chosen. I ended up doing well enough on the gmat while doing enough to pass the frm exam in less than two months, but fun times were not had.
Absolutely do not have your gmat exam in mid December and potentially screw your mba chances up. Do it earlier and sacrifice frm if you need to retake again.
