I passed L1 in Dec, I had a decent feeling that I passed so I picked up the L2 Material and started just after X-mas. I realize I am not the sharpest CFA Candidate out there so I intended to over study I have booked over 300 hours so far and I am still not doing well at all. I planned on being through the material with decent comprehension with 9 weeks to go and I thought I did that but I’m scoring fairly low on most subjects. I’ve done over 2,000 questions and I still make some pretty dumb mistakes, the format of L2 vs L1 is a big change. Two days ago I ditched the Q bank and started picking parts of old CFA exams. They kicked my ass but the format is the same as the exam and with no multiple choice it makes it harder. Any second timers or anyone that has passed have any words of wisdom on time management and strategy about reviewing the material or just keep doing questions? Yes I do review what I get wrong I actually take specific notes on every wrong answer. I think at this point my wrong answers are almost the L2 material.
You have plenty of time. Do the CFA EOC’s. They are time consuming but are well worth the effort. On my first pass I did all the Passmaster questions and then worked the EOC’s to fill in the gaps of what was missed by Stalla.
I would say focus on the EOC’s, I failed last year, but I remember that the test resembled the EOC’s ( I know that cause I did do a couple chapters from the EOCs and those were the sections I did well in. You still got time to make it happen, focus on FSA, equity, and Ethics you know those will be weighted alot, but all subjects are impt
Do your best and remember many good candidates failed last year, so it’s not like I have to pass now or I will die. The second time around is much more relaxing.

I disagree. the “i have to pass” is the urgency that is needed to pass IMO. time is a factor, and the sooner you get the charter the sooner you can move on to bigger and better things. like working at a big 4 accounting firm and having to get the cpa to move up or else move out.
I am through for this year. I know I will not be well prepared for June, so I am concentrating for November FRM exam. Good luck everyone
I share you feelings! I have gone through the material twice now and while I feel that I am doing ok on the individual topic subsets when I am studying them, I also seem to forget it all again the minute I move on to the next subject!!!
Not for nothing, but I spent over 400 hours last year on L2 and paid over $3000 in study materials to end up with a Band 10 so I know what you’re going through. The only thing I can advise is to man up and keep hitting the books hard.
Where did you get the old CFA exams?
