how bout the one with restructuring charges and gains where you had to average over 3 years? i put 5
i put 15 for the first

yeah but the question at the end of the vignette said that he averaged the charges over three years, didn’t it?
wait when they said pension expense, were they implying the absolute value of the expense? or the deduction? As I remember there was a +3k and -3k
i don’t remember that one.
sum of all three was -15, so last year should be -5. it was 10 so the adjustment was -15. that was my thought
i just took out the rev -12… who knows
Adjustments were down 5, last sentence in the vignette said he averaged all the numbers over the 3 years. add back restructuring - cap gains taken on sale of equip, avg’d over 3 years was adjust by 5m
i saw that in the vignette, but the question said what “should” he do. not sure why you would average the effects as that doesn’t show true “earnings power” at all i dunno…went back and forth 3x and went with B (10) which was also my guess letter
what did the vignette say exactly? i really dont like the idea of averaging those impacts as that isnt right at all… wouldnt you just shitcan them?
-10 for 2007 in the restructure charge. didn’t do calculation; just removed the gain.
i agree i felt like we were adjusting their statements to what they should be ideally…
For prop. consolidation ROE goes down, cause equity goes up, right? Only net income is the same.

^ that’s what i did too, just removed the gain it had for that year… didn’t average out anything- it said the amount each year in the little chart. who knows though.
it doesn’t make sense to do the fuzzy math. i feel it’s just awkward to do that kind of math.
