Futures v. Forwards

In the CFA books I’ve noticed that the general formula used for conversion of a discrete rate to a continuously compounded rate varies: Forwards… Rc = ln(1+r) Futures… Rc = 1/T ln (1+r) I would imagine this relates to the daily mark to market for futures and not forwards. Anyone?
