Game of Thrones: Season 7

Is that a real question?

I’ve been a bit bored at work lately.

Filthy casual, am I right?

Agree with the first statement. Tyrion has sold Dany down the river. In the House of the Undying, Dany received the following prophecy: “Three treasons you will know…once for blood and once for gold and once for love”. Dany believes that Mirri Maz Duur betrayed her for the blood of her people, but Tyrion betraying her for his family could also be for blood, or could be for love. It’s also possible that Dany is the betrayer in one or more of the ways, as the prophecy only says she will know three treasons, but I suspect she’ll be the betrayed all three times. Jorah betrayed her in the hopes of returning to Westeros and reclaiming his family lands, which could be the betrayal for gold. When Cersei told Jaime to stop preparing to go north, she called him the stupidest member of the family, or something along those lines, implying that Tyrion wasn’t as stupid. The show chose not to show us her agreeing with Tyrion to join the fight in the north, so they clearly didn’t want us to know what deal they made.

I think there’s a 0% chance Tyrion is doing anything to help Cersei. He hates her as much as he hated his father. His biggest wish in the books is to r a pe then kill her. Granted, in the show we’re both well past that and have gone in a different direction, but the hatred is real. The only two members of his house Tryion even liked were an uncle that sailed to Valyria to find the Lannister family sword (never returned, presumed dead) and Jaime. Once he finds out that Jaime told Cersei to F off, he’ll be happy enough.

Another thing to consider is just how bad a season this was for Tyrion. As Hand to Dany he was wrong just about every time he offered up major strategic advise. That’s odd in itself since Tyrion is generally one of the smartest people around. So, my prediction is he’s playing Cersei. For a long time people believed (by Cersei especially) the prophecy meant Tyrion was going to kill Cersei. Then we swithced to thinking it would be Jaime. Now I think I’m back in the camp of it’s going to be Tryion. He’ll trick his sister into some scheme then strangle her to death.

tl;dr - Tryion was outmatched by Cersei this last season. That’s not right. Now with Jaime on his side, Cersei is screwed.

^ He’s not doing it to help Cersei, he’s doing it to help her unborn child. I see no other reason why they would purposefully not show us the end of Tyrion and Cersei’s meeting and why Tyrion would be so sad about Jon getting together with Dany. I think Jaime will still be the one to kill Cersei. I’m thinking now that Jaime and Tyrion really reconnect in the fight against the White Walkers and when they return to King’s Landing together, Cersei reneges on her deal and tries to kill Tyrion instead (maybe succeeding) and Jaime kills her.

^That would mean Dany (assuming she’s still alive) would feed Tryion to Drogon (assuming he’s still alive). That ain’t happening. Not even GRRM is that cruel.

There’s really no upside to siding with Cersei. Tryion really may want to help the unborn child, but he’s not going to side with Cersei over it. If anything he’ll find a way to double-cross her and let Jaime raise the kid or whatever. Indeed, Cersei is probably too ignorant to realize the situation she’s got herself in, but I bet Tryion knows exactly what’s up (specifically the history of the Golden Company, see below).

Cersei has basically nothing going for her at this point. She has zero allies and her only hope rests on the forces of the living barely defeating the dead so they’re weak enough for her army - which is going to be made up primarily of the Golden Company - to destroy.

So who exactly is this Golden Company? The Iron Bank is likely messing with Cersei too. The Golden Company was founded by…wait for it…the b a stard son of Aegon the IV. While they’re known for never breaking a contract, consider who the contract is with, the Iron Bank or Cersei? And, even if it is with Cersei, their primary motive as a company of sellswords is to get back to Westeros and help put the rightful Targ on the Throne.

This is all assuming the Golden Company in the show is somewhat similar to the Golden Company in the books.

tl;dr - Cersei done eff’d up when she hired the Golden Company.

I miss the days when GRRM was writing this sh i t.

I suppose the only thing to do is strap in and enjoy it for what it is at this stage.

the show makes him too much of a good guy, its annoying. in the book, he’s not always such a good guy, very petty, vengeful, and always blames his dwarfism for all his problems. essentially he’s a murderous licentious deceitful individual up to par with most of the bad guys.

we’ve already seen tyrion try to convince dany to change the government to an elective monarchy. (succession after death). he also demanded to inherit casterly rock.

tyrion also said that everyone is obviously in love with dany (including him). and now that aegon is banging her he is obviously jealous.

plus, it looks like he is protecting his family. dany should have just killed the pretenders straight up from the get go.

So is the midget a double agent?

We are still meant to sympathize with Tyrion, as he is mostly reacting to mistreatment and betrayal by those close to him. His character in the TV show does seem to have become more dignified though - probably due to popularity. I’m not sure what is up with that weird look he had during the boat incest scene. They didn’t have to make such a big screen time for that if he was just jealous. It seems to be foreshadowing some bad result from that relationship, or possibly his betrayal (which I doubt).

^Maybe he just wanted to listen in on all this wincest action that’s been going on around him for all his life.

Bran: “Jon, Tyrion was beautiful listening at the door the night you f@cked your aunt.”

Jon: “Wai…what??”

I can’t copy the relevant section for some reason, but here’s an article with the director of the last episode explaining his thoughts on why Tyrion was creepin:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/29/arts/television/game-of-thrones-season-7-finale-director-jon-snow.html

Too lazy to click: Tyrion is most concerned with who holds the most influence over Dany. Jon could diminish Tyrion’s role moving forward. As he confirms they’re boning, he’s worried about his own future.

I thought Tyrion and Jon were buddies though, after that whole “all dwarves are basterds” bit, and they have generally aligning interests at the moment. So, the director’s opinion notwithstanding, it would have made more sense if Tyrion was concerned about future catastrophe, or was remorseful about some plan that would exploit the relationship between Jon and Daenarys. In any case, he is really not being a bro here - if your friend is plowing his hot aunt queen, you should just be like, go dawg.

watch your mouth with the disrespect.

Midget was born a lion and a lion he will be

My left field prediction is that Cersei pops out the sprog and it’s a midget. With all that inbreeding it’s only a matter of time.

I don’t think there is time in the story for Cersei to give birth. The zombies are already south of wall - somehow, I don’t see the writers having them dick around for months. Also, I’m not sure that dwarfism works that way.

Maybe the Others are the only creatures that obey the laws of time and space. Since the Wall is about 2,000 miles from King’s Landing and they seem to walk very slowly let’s say 3 miles an hour (why can’t they just run all the time? I don’t think they get tired) that would take them about 666 (coincidence?) hours to make the journey. Assuming days are 24 hours long (this isn’t a given), that’s about 28 days. That also assumes they can walk straight south, but they can’t. They have to go through the Neck and the marshes which will really slow them down. Let’s add another month for detours and battles along the way.

Cersei has two months to live.
