Saw the episode last night and though it was pretty mediocre. Wtf was up with the ed sheeran cameo? That ginger cunt didn’t say a word and looked down the whole time.
Why are so many people so upset with Sheeran’s cameo? He’s not the first musician to make a cameo in the series and Maisie Williams is apparently a very big fan of his. There were 5 or 6 other soldiers in that scene. Why isn’t anyone upset about any of them?

The cold open was the best part. I do feel that Arya is being seduced by the “dark side” and that her hubris may burn her, especially since GRRM isn’t writing these episodes and is a standard trope.

I think Euron had an eye patch in the book. Why did they omit that for the series? Maybe they thought it was too on the nose for a pirate (like, where’s his parrot and peg leg), but I think that’s what makes it awesome. Also, I think the costumes for both Euron and Cersei are a little stupid…I can’t really describe why, but I’ll think about it.

Basically nothing happened the entire episode other than the cold open. Jon made some political decisions, Cersei and Jamie had words, the Hound felt bad for the people he effectively killed, Dany put her hand in the sand, Sam cleaned a bunch of chamber pots and did some research, Arya ate some rabbit, Bran crossed the wall. I understand that they need to move some pieces around, but this was the most boring episode in a while.

There is a bit of a catch 22 with GoT now in that because of the major character deaths and unexpected devastating twists (red wedding the prime example), I almost expect them to come out with a surprise and them not coming out with a twist would be a surprise. At any rate, I almost feel as if from here on out it will be straight fantasy with good triumphing over evil a la Tolkein.
I didn’t even know who the dude was until my wife said something. Then I told her to be quiet because Game of Thrones.

that jon snow speech was pretty good. almost reminiscent of the convo between dany and viking chick. i would say that was the best part of the episode.
