Game of Thrones: Season 7

Not sure what you’re referring to. I haven’t deleted any threads or comments. I’ve edited a few comments but always gave a reason why.

^ my bad, must have been another mod.

not on the version I watched on Kodi

I skip the Previously on segment so I don’t get group texts with spoilers.

How does skipping the “previously on” part keep you from getting texts?

And how are they spoilers when they were previously on? I could see skipping trailers for upcoming episodes for that reason.

2nd episode was better but still not that great for me. People raving about the action packed final scenes but apart from the Theon bit i wasn’t impressed with it either. At the time I was willing him to intervene and save the day/die with honour but in hindsight it was the fitting reaction for this character.

Euron just seems ridiculous and the sand snakes were awful characters.

One thing that comes to mind is that great big sprawling stories never really end in a satisfying way (see Lost) as you end up getting used to seasons and seasons of the plot expanding, more people being introduced, more tangents, more unexpected turns so then when it starts to focus in it becomes too mechanic as they try to tie up all the strands. That’s why Breaking Bad was the best TV show ever for me. It was finite as a function of the central plot, it didn’t meander or expand too far.

So what does the forum think? Sam actually George R R Martin?

Sam is the storyteller, if that’s what you mean. As I stated here before, Sam will prove to be the true hero of the story.

I’m annoyed by Euron. Casting was horrible and wardrobe is even worse. He looks like Freddie Mercury.

The final scene - the naval battle - was surprisingly poorly shot. Couldn’t really tell what was going on, bad editing…

At least we got a glimpse of the next true King of the Iron Throne: Hot Pie

Only because he’s the author!

I was hoping the wolf would bite off Arya’s head. I was dissapoint.

Because then I’m ahead of everyone in the group text and I can send them spoilers

sand sisters caught by evil sadistic pirates. im really curious how got handle this just cuz of the last backlash they had.

Omg.

The first two episodes were mediocre but last night was fucking lit. Holy shit.

okay, lettuce be real.

did cersei read some war strategy for dummies s h it and suddenly start outwitting tyrion despite behing catastrophic at ruling a kingdom till now?

what on earth is that creepy b a stard bran doing telling sansa how beautiful the day was when she was raped?

  • ves : No more sandsnakes yay

Cersei’s army is being run by Jaime, Euron and Randall Tarly. The show has made a point to emphasize how good they are at war.

HBO got hacked, GOT script is online

To expand on my Episode 1 thoughts:

  1. Euron just really bothers me. He is the one character that is not at all how he is described in the book. In the book, he has one eye, bluish lips, he has a dragon horn that can control dragons, he’s super evil, lies constantly, etc. This guy seems soft by comparison, and the matrix themed attire isn’t helping. He’s basically just a new one dimensional villain to replace Ramsay, as far as I can tell.

  2. Things happen so fast in episodes 2 and 3. In previous seasons Jon Snow would say “I’m going to Dragonstone!” and then the rest of the season would be about him going to Dragonstone. In this season, he is there in the first scene of the next episode. I like the action. I just hope they don’t lose character development along the way.

  3. I like the Lannister switcheroo with their army, but I’m not sure I love the direction they are going with Dany. Basically, she shows up super powerful and now they need to weaken her so that it is a real contest between her and Cersei, which is why they destroyed Dany’s navy, her links to Dorne and Highgarten, and stranded the unsullied on the other side of Westeros. Now she is left with only the Dothraki. If they included the dragon horn in the plot then that would have been unnecessary, but maybe that was judged too high fantasy for the show or something. Maybe I’m nitpicking, but it seems a little transparent.

  4. I wonder if Bronn and Tyrion meet at some point on opposing sides.

Why did HBO do a short season when it feels like they are rushing the plot along? Seems like there was enough for a full season.
