privet ksyuha  I think the difference is the exchanges they are traded on. In your case, I think you have to go with OGZPY

If you’re going to invest in Gazprom, you best be ready to roll with the Nigaz.

+1

Exactly as kblade said, if you are just adding it to your own portfolio go with a local exchange

I thought we established that the ticker symbol was OLDE??

That depends when you bought it

Also in the quaotes there are stocks for two companies Gazprom itself and his subsidiary Gazprom neft (former Sibneft).

The different stocks will be quoted in different currencies depending on the market where you buy it and they will also have different trading times. For example, Frankfurt will be shut while New York keeps trading, so you should choose the exchange with the trading times and the currency that work best for you. For example, if you are in Russia, it wouldn’t make much sense to own the US shares since most of the action will go into the late evening for you. The second important point is that you should choose the stock with the highest volumes (liquidity), lowest fees and bid/ask spreads. For example, Munich and Hamburg shares are going to go through Frankfurt anyway. That will delay your transaction slightly and may add another layer of fees. In Germany I would go with GAZ.F GAZPROM SP ADR 13.06 Stock FRA, in the US OAO GAZPROM ADR REGS.
