Currently a generalist (e.g.: Corporate banking relationship manager) looking to move into a specialist role (e.g.: project finance, LAF … ) in the future. Any good or bad experiences to share ? Was it easier to move into a specialist role from a generalist role or vice versa ?
All i can say is that i have been able to move around in 3 different generalist roles (all in different business areas) in the last 4 years, and i have taken a promotion each time. In my view, many specialists dont have that possibility. But again, im biased.
