GIPS, why this one is wrong?

“The S&P 500 index was used as the benchmark for all three composite performance presentations.” The qbank says it is wrong.

No wAy to answer that question with the information you have provided.

The composites have different strategies/focuses i’m sure, so they should each have a benchmark that represents that strategy.

Can the same benchmark be used in more than one composite in a GIPS compliant firm?

why not? of course. could have a minimum account restriction different , but same benchmark same . or could have a different risk exposure or different active management?

I don’t know. Is one of the managers a fixed income manager? Obviously they used the wrong benchmark. Is he a small cap emerging markets manager? Obviously they used the wrong benchmark. Japanese equities manager? Obviously they used the wrong benchmark.
