Last day of hardcore studying… Give it all you’ve got !!!
well not really. chill a bit. my plan is to do FRA and Quant tomorrow (thursday i guess, which is today). then derivatives and ethics on Friday. and somehow i have to review everything else in between. whoaa!!! oh Shit i forget FI.
im going the long distance today — planning on studying for 12 hours!!! then give myself a must needed break/rest on friday to lightly review the secret sauce.
I feel I’ll rest a lot today…did the second mock and scored an honorable score ^^ Paul
what was your score pauluss? I feel like the mock is a decoy… at least based on last year’s posts
85%…what I felt good but if you said there is huge differences between both, maybe (surely) I’ll change my mind and spend more hours then : Ummm, I didn’t read the posts about the difference between last year exam & MOCK’s…makes me stressed now :-s I start getting bored about all this stuff I read many times :-s
well, don’t get stressed with an 85% you will probably be setting the MPS… don’t worry too much… what I mean is that, for example there was no Alt. Inv or Econ on the mock… you know in the exam you’ll get at least one item set on each… some of the core material is likely to get tested in the real exam…i.e. H-Model, Econ. Pension Expense… other details that were in the mocks will be replaced with other details not tested in the samples (and that is because the CFAI knows that people will tend to overstudy what has been on the mocks and samples)… given your awesome score on the sample exam and probably on other practice exams you have probably proven to yourself that you are ready to take on this thing and be ready for any section in the exam… if you have a low standard deviation in you samples/mocks and you avg. is above 70%… you are set…
Hope everything will be fine…in the contrary, will be for next session! I feel prepared but we never know… When you write: “there was no Econ” you mean there wasn’t any topics related to Forex… Anyway, still some time to read last details Good luck! Paul
12 hours today and friday
Yeah, I’m not staying up until 2am on Friday, but I’m definitely studying all day at work - I don’t understand the theory of taking Friday off - my retention level is horrendous, so I’m reading Secret Sauce cover to cover again tomorrow.
I’ll be working at the office today and tomorrow. Whatever CFA knowledge is in my now, is all I’m bringing to the game…
I am not going to stop until Friday at around 9PM Why stop? Let me put it this way, if I can even learn/brush up on even 2-3 topics I will feel much better going into the exam and it could be the difference between Pass/Fail. SH*T, I might even go for an hour early Sat. to get my head in the game. For level 1 I put together a small 20 question quiz on all really easy topics and took it before I left the house. Anyway, thats my plan. Best of luck to all of you!

To each his/her own, though.
good luck all. i just read the CFAI text for commodities and hedge funds- just in case of an alts curveball, needed those fresh. going to do some EOC fixed income mult choice now b/c haven’t done FI in a while. corp fi review is on the agenda also today. will do a once over tomorrow of FSA/equity formulas, but i think i know what i know there. i have maybe 6 hrs in me today, 2-3 tomorrow. i will be in a zen state of relaxed dominance come saturday.

But I’m seriously going to flip out being in the office today. Looking to change jobs immediately after this exam is over.
I’m gonna pull the plug tomorrow at 6pm. Why? Because I want to be well rested and relaxed for exam day. Any additional studying will be of marginal benefit and may lead to even more confusion and second guessing. It worked for me at L1, there’s no need to change the routine this time around.
I was going to shut it down today, but scored 65% on AM mock. I made some dumb mistakes and that cost me about 6-7 questions. Still, I thought I was going to crush it when I saw the topics. I’m too close to stop for rest. That will come Sunday.
