Yeah, but let’s be real here. Israel isn’t just going after strategically important targets. Or, if they are, they suck at it. I’m pretty sure hitting a school is not exactly militarily significant.
It’s so hard to know what’s true and what isn’t, in terms of reporting, but if the school is being used as a missile and munitions depot, that pretty much makes it a military target. It’s also hard to see any gain for Israel - militarily, politically, or in terms of public relations - in targeting a school if it isn’t being used for purposes like that.
You might argue that the Israelis are ruthless and heartless, and plenty of people think so, but the IDF is not so irrational as to target a school that has zero military value.
If it were a munitions depot, this would also make for a much bigger explosion when hit.
Good point. I was thinking Hamas was moving kids to the strategic sites. Didn’t occur to me that Hamas would make a school a weapons depot. I guess that’s why I’m not a terrorist leader.
There has been footage of Hamas rockets being launched out the windows of hospitals. These terrorists specifically use civilian locations for their rocket sites. They don’t just move civilians (they do that too) to protect their military sites but actually move their terrorists into schools and hospitals to conduct their attacks.
