Ok so apparently it can be broken down like this,

When pointed out that the palesteniens have had a grave injustice committed to them and the only way to show them that the world really wants peace as a viable alternative is by recognizing them as an independent entity

Hamas has rockets

When pointed out that Israel as a state was infact formed with the help of jewish militia’s that targeted arab villages driving them out of their homeland

Ignore the past, Hamas has rockets

When pointed out that while Hamas are scum but indeed do have rockets that are plastic pieces of shit that serve nothing other than token resistance and have killed a grand total of 3 israeli civilians in this latest conflict and the Israeli response is unjustified and illegal

Israel are defending themselves

When pointed out that while Israeli response is justified for arguments sake nothing justifies the fact that Israel have

  1. Illegally occupied Lebanon
  2. Illegally dropped cluster bombs on the south of Lebanon
  3. Arranged the slaughter of a refugee population that had surrendered
  4. Have committed an act termed as genocide by the UN
  5. Continue to act above international law and act with impunity with American backing

_Hamas have a charte_r despite the fact that one side is getting slaughtered and it isn’t the Israelis

When acknowledged that Hamas’s charter is ridiculous but bombing a defenceless population just strengthens their cause giving them more martyrs and we can undermine their very core by recognizing the west bank as free Palestine which is led by American backed Abbas and showing the fact a free Palestine is on the cards

Israel wants peace

When pointed out that when the PLO were withdrawing from Lebanon, IDF went after innocent people and continues to prod and provoke by building illegal settlements and when provided with numerous quotes from Israel leaders showing that they don’t really want peace

Oh but err, what about Egypt?

Another great one is ‘The Gatekeepers’ which interviews top people at the shin bet and has a portion dedicated to that line ‘One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter’. Shin bet being one of the 3 principal organizations of Israeli intelligence alongside Mossad. All people unequivocally state the people in charge of Israel don’t really want peace and the occupation does more harm than good.

Like I said the carte blanche is astounding.

But close your eyes and cover your ears and repeat after me. Hamas are the bad guys, Islam is evil and sarcastically say the words ‘religion of peace’. And nod in agreement when asshat politicians say they attack our ‘personal liberty’

I am a novice on international politics. I have been reading about the history of Israel and Palestine…trying to understand the logic behind killing civilians defying all war ethics…more than a week and I draw nothing…just didn’t get a reason enough, historical or geo-political, to justify Israel’s killing of close to 1000 people including many innocent children…unbelievable stupidity by this country and stupidity of USA and others in silently observing…a UN resolution means nothing unless there is a change in ground realities…look the way Obama reacted when the Malaysian place was shot down…clearly indicting Russia for backing the terrorists…but why is he mostly silent in this case? I haven’t find a logic. In a modern world, with all the advanced defense technologies (I heard Israel is far advanced), killing civilians and rest of the world watching? Pakistan’s support to terror activities is well documented and in India thousands died over the last couple of decades, but does that mean India should kill Pakistani civilians? What the hell…and who the fool thinks that this will end terror attacks on Israel by the Hamas? Will peace ever come? The answer is NO. Wait for more terror attacks, more Arab and Muslim youths all over the world joining terror groups and more violence, more people dying…a modern world requires better foreign policies and more intelligence that these fools like Obama who are ruling the world today. India should lead and its a super opportunity to show we mean business (of peace)…why go soft or silent…just for some defence technologies? To hell with it.

Israel provides warning before any attack. Hamas holds civilians there in order to form human shields around their positions. They launch rockets from hospitals and schools. These are all actual war crimes. Where is your outrage about this isildurr? You believe that Hamas are freedom fighters. You’re wrong. They are a mercenary group that gets more money the more Palestinians die. They are in the business of having the people you think they are fighting for killed. Where is the Hamas leader today? Fighting along side his men, asserting Palestinian freedom right? No. He lives in Qatar in a huge mansion and avoids all any real danger while he directs his scum to collect women and children to defend his terror sites. Hamas is a terrorist business, they aren’t freedom fighters. Go look up its leader. He’s a millionaire enjoying the high life in Qatar. Real leaders of resistance movements are in the trenches, not organzing women and children has human shields. Hamas is run by a bunch of pitiful cowards. Cowards that have made billions off the deaths if the women and children they organize to be slaughtered to raise funds. Its a f***ing business for these terrorists. Not a freedom fight. Wake up.

^ Israel isn’t killing civilians. Hamas is. Israel provides warning in advance of a strike. Hamas then moves children and women into the target zone, or prevents them from leaving. I will agree with you: if any Israeli was found to be targeting civilians, then I’d like to see them prosecuted and jailed. Hamas leadership is in the business of having as many Palestinians killed as possible. That’s how they extract their personal fortunes in the billions while their people starve. No dying Palestinians, no new car. This conflict has been a huge boon for their leadership.

Many have argued that 9/11 attacks were self motivated by Americans.I am not saying that this conspiracy theories are true…I just want to convey that every major “conflict/Lfhs events” has conspiracy theories attatched to them…May be your theory that “Hamas” are supporting serial killings in Palestine is nothing more than a conspiracy theory which may or may not be true…

^ The fact that Hamas’s leader is a billionaire in Qatar is undisputed. Israel most definitely provides warning to civilians ahead of attacks. These are facts. I guess you can think the Hamas leader is just lucky on the stock market rather than being corrupt and profiting from death, but that’s your call.

I’m a beginner when it comes to history. Can anyone give me a synopsis of the conflict?

I saw this video that seemed to explain it very well but when I look at the comments, people said it is very bias from Israel’s point of view. They say that Arabs have been living there for thousands of years then one day, “God” came along and said the land belongs to the Jewish people and Israeli’s came to claim the promised land.

I don’t know what to believe.

Should Israel stop bombarding Gaza and declare the west bank free which is run by american backed Abbas we would see support for Hamas dwindle massively in Gaza and we would see the moderates in that reigon actually get a voice removing the very legs of Hamas’s power base.

Also, perhaps you can watch the documentaries and if you don’t want to believe anyone at least listen to Israeli officials on the frontline of shin bet when they themselves explain that the occupation is doing more harm than good in the long run.

But whatever pal, i’m sure they are ‘left leaning’.

^ It is hard: when the Israelis send out a warning, old rich Hamas leader in Qatar calls up his buds to round up the women and children to huddle around the target zone. How else will he raise money for his car collection and house additions if his people aren’t being slaughtered.
