I was just wondering whether or not everyone was doing the readings in order. I have been jumping out of order. I started with Equities just because its what I needed to GET STARTED. Heres my order: Equities Alt Asset Val Fixed Inc FSA Econ Deriv Quant Ethics Some of these readings are REALLY dry and CFAI repeats a lot of things which is a good thing to rehash information.
i would sugggest you to read ethics before. rather read it a bit daily on ur travel thats what i did for L1.
Yeah you know aqua I was just thinking about that, I think I am going start taking pieces from Ethics every day. I remember crunching for Ethics on L1 on like the week before the test and it wasnt fun.
I would go with the topic that you feel least confident first. This way you have a higher chance to get a second pass on these topics when time allows. For example, in my case, I always start with FI and PM, because that’s the two topics I feel least confident. After two passes so far, they seem a lot less imposing. One more pass on these topics I think I should be ready. To some people, I think quant is difficult to them. So if you belong to this group, you could start with that. Just make sure you won’t leave ethics to last because you need to pass that section in order to pass the exam. I usually leave it to second or third last, so that it would at least get two passes. I feel pretty comfortable with quant, so I leave that to last.
I’m working in order from 1 through 18. At this stage in the game, I have sufficient time in order to go over weak areas for a 2nd/3rd round.

Well, I was attending Schweser’s instructor office hours the other day. One person came in and asked for help because he didn’t pass last year due to failure in ethic section. It’s not entirely myth (or “urban legend”), it’s pretty real. So, don’t under-estimate ethic section.
