Gotta vent.

So as I sit here and zone out reading the FI book, I can’t help but notice that I think I am going to need eye surgery when I am finished. Is it me or are the CFA pages really f***ki shiny? I mean what the hell every 2 seconds I am adjusting the light so I can actually read the book. Ok im done.

I haven’t had any issue with them. Maybe it would help your studying if you go get corrective lenses sooner rather than later - -

i second the excessive shine… depending where i’m studying, some light just bounces off the pages…

It really does have a bad glare… I found that staying late and studying at the office helps. There are so many over head lights that all of the “glare” gets canceled out. When I study at home and there are only one or two sources of light, and its gets a really really bad glare (because the light is only coming in at one angle). The array of overhead lights takes care of this. So, I started studying only at the office about a quarter of the way through Level I. Not only does it get rid of the glare problem. But when I’m home… I’m home, no work, no study, just relax and sleeeeep. So I recommend a well lit library, coffee shop, or the office. But yes, damn these shiny pages!!!

one of the advantages of Schweser. they have the workbook format, larger font, more quizzes along the way, and less material. only gonna use CFAI books for fsa, equity, and ethics

Or is it FI BTG…the MBS and the ABS and million other kinds of structures all just went way above my head!

I agree with the original poster. I stare at a screen for ten hours/day. The last thing I want to do is have that damn glare when I get home.

The sheen of the pages have an adverse effect on my ability to retain information. A more lackluster version is highly preferable. Sincerely, Pocket Protector Patty

Don’t worry - all of those structures will be purely historical going forward…

I’m talkin’ about ventin’. What are YOU talkin’ about?

You don’t wanna vent? I’m gonna start ventin’ without you!
