He also have fairly informative columns on HFs and PEs

i dont understand the relevance of the Christian Motorcyclists Association or a member of the CIA for a finance employee?

I looked up CIA. It’s Chartered Internal Auditor . CMA is Certified Management Accountant. I wonder what’s this guy track record as a PM.
Isn’t Calpers doing pretty crappy right now? From what I understand, they’re in the process of selling off huge sums of real estate holdings to stay afloat.
What public pension fund isn’t ‘doing pretty crappy’?
I don’t know, you’d think the ones that pay their top guys millions of dollars to do well would, ya know, do well.
So you guys earn only one qualification in your lifetime other than your degree(most likely from a state or mediocre college) and you start thinking that just because some one has a string of qualifications there has to be something wrong with them? Granted I get the CFA charter in 2010 that will be my sixth - and I now see why my taxes will continue financing welfare for some slackers here. No offence. So much for envy and ineptitude.
Watchu have JOE?
Has anyone ever heard of a CFA^2 ? I think its a cat-lover who is handy with balance sheet adjustments.
^ I am a typical MBA and a few others which begin with “C”. The point is, having these qualifications can never be a disadvantage, granted one does them out of a passion. That does not mean they can be a cover for any weakness or incompetency - but reading some comments here by guys we are all know they had scrappy GPA’s from no name universities is shocking. They need to put some meat in their resumes.
Continuing education = long term success I wish I was an academic.

Rydex, With all due respect, aren’t you pushing for multiple designations as well? I recall a CFA/CAIA/FRM vs MBA thread that got real heated. The reason I ask is I don’t see this as being freakish. What is the harm in pushing for knowledge and using examinations as a way to fulfill your goals?

Also have a big But here is the thing: desigantions do not mean you are smart, only that you are committed. But commitment doesnt alwyas lead to greatness. Many of us with top credentials will live well but never reach the pinnacle of echelons of peaks of mountains. So you have to draw the utility curve and you will find that each additional designation may have just taken a lot of your time without additional benefits.

Dude, my English is both American and British(and some poor Aussie slang). “Offence” is British for Offense. You are correct because you would only be knowing one. No offense.
