I’ve been off anything wheat and most carbs for over a year now and i feel great, the one problem is i am eating non-stop, to a point if my girl asked me if i have some tape worm. I’ve also been off any supplement for over a year (including protein shakes) and i havent noticed any decline in my lifts. My new program involves sprinting 2-3 times a week, wrestling once a week, boxing once a week, and this weight training program. Have a look if youre interested:
I’m not looking for a huge weightloss, as I think I’m reasonably fit right now - just wanna get shredded. I’m quite strong in terms of legs, back, arms and shoulders - just that I’m not very happy with my stomach area. I used to do abs on/off before but I’ve never had a flat stomach. I’m just not able to get my head around what more I can do to sort it out.
Diet - I don’t eat any junkfood or bread. Brown rice and lots of veggies for carbs.
This makes sense and I’ve heard this before too - just that there aren’t that many people who agree with it. Even on this thread, there are more people suggesting cardio before weights.
From my personal experience though, I’m able to do more if I go straight to the weights area, then come back for cardio, instead of doing it the other way around.
Well, I’m a market maker for my firm so I suppose you could say that stress is high during market hours - but I really enjoy my work, so even if it is there, I don’t feel it so much. My colleagues tell me that when I first started I was like a kid in a candy store
The only time I do feel it is when people renege on a verbal agreement - it’s a pain in the ass to negotiate how we’re going to settle the price difference.
Yes and yes - my idea of cardio is to run as fast as I possibly can for however long I can, then stop to catch my breath and then repeat. So yeah, it’s not really a warmup thing.
Oh yes martial arts is an excellent alternative. Squash too. I really miss playing squash with my colleagues before weights training - too impatient to wait for others to finish
