No, personally I don’t think it’s “many” and secondly, I think they’re reasoning is flawed on logical levels. Such and such is okay, going to a gym to look good is okay, but moving hair around on your head, that’s bad. Who cares? I want it so I can go into situations where I don’t know people and look awesome. I also want to go into situations where I do know people, and look awesome. My friends are all basically in the go for it camp, which only leaves a bunch of people I don’t care about who seem to think otherwise. Who cares. The same girls who often would later say they frown on plastic surgery because it’s shallow are the same ones that shoot down balding dudes in bars. I’ve also never had someone I know accuse me of being shallow. Nearly everyone will tell you I’m an obsessive perfectionist, but that’s a different story. I just see my hair as my weak link and my nature is to fix things that annoy me. So I’ll fix it, won’t try to hide it, I just think it’s a major improvement and it would make me feel better, I hate staring at a glaring reminder that I’m getting old and not as attractive as I used to be. Particularly when I don’t have to. It’s also that I’m 27 and in my mind way to young to be dealing with this crap. If I was 37, I might be more accommodating.

I think we both know this is about hair plugs , not burn victims or people with clef pallets. Just a joke (with maybe a hint of truth), so don’t take it too personally. Anyway, you’re just considering being fake; you’re not actually fake yet.

See, this is where I disregard your advice based on the appearance that you’re an illogical retard.
Wait, did you just ask what the difference is between a boob job or hair plugs and repairing a cleft pallet? Well, to my knowledge breast size and follicle abundance do not influence the ability to eat and speak. Look, don’t want to fight with you. I am joking. Taken to the extreme, I am fake because I use whitening toothpaste, or moisturizer, etc. We are all a little vain and fake.
Two words dude: Hairclub

And here is one of many articles on the subject - google “better looking people get paid more”. Effectively you could be investing in a higher future income. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/5330812/Beautiful-people-are-paid-more-than-counterparts-because-they-are-worth-it.html Beautiful people are paid more than counterparts ‘because they are worth it’ Pretty women and handsome men are paid more than their less good looking counterparts because they are worth it, claim scientists. Researchers discovered attractive people get paid better and rise higher up the corporate ladder than less good-looking colleagues of equal ability. But they believe it may not be simply down to bosses lusting after beautiful members of staff, it may actually be because they are easier to work with and better educated. Psychologists think good looking employees are often more confident as a result of their attractiveness and therefore shine and stand out in the office. It also leads to them being better qualified. Though it may lead to accusations of favouritism among jealous co-workers, the bosses handing out the rewards may be acting subconsciously. Researchers from the University of Florida questioned nearly 200 male and female workers aged between 25 and 75 about their income, lifestyle, education and stress issues. Each was given IQ and other tests to work out general intelligence and their pictures were shown to a separate group of people to give the original volunteers ratings on how attractive they appeared. Analysing the results for the Journal of Applied Psychology it found those deemed to be good-looking were paid more than those with at least similar intelligence levels. They also were more outgoing and tended to be better educated – both could also be a result of the confidence good looks can give a person. However looks alone are no substitute for intelligence. Workers with the highest intelligence levels did the best overall – no matter how good-looking they were – suggesting that the perfect employee needs to have the right combination of brains, beauty and confidence said the Florida researchers. The study author Professor Tim Judge said: "Little is known about why there are income disparities between the good-looking and the not-so-good-looking. "We’ve found that, even accounting for intelligence, a person’s feeling of self-worth is enhanced by how attractive they are and this, in turn, results in higher pay. He added: "We can be somewhat heartened by the fact that the effects of general intelligence on income were stronger than those of facial attractiveness. “It turns out that the brainy are not necessarily at a disadvantage to the beautiful, and if one possesses intelligence and good looks, then all the better.” The answers from the questionnaire suggested good looking people think more highly of their own worth and capabilities which in turns makes them more confident and this gets noticed by bosses. Judge admitted this could lead to bosses being subconsciously biased towards the beautiful people in their office.
well I got it done last week…2,600 follicles (about 8k hairs)…the “plugs” that everyone tallks about are just scabs, that have already started to disappear after a few days. anyway I am SO glad I did it. I have no doubt the results will be amazing in 3 months when the hair re-emerges from the transplanted follicles. Even though time will really tell whether this was all worth it, right now I believe it was. Confidence already up. no more receding hairline. amazing
Congrats dude. Hope it works out well.
Good for you, L3. If it’s not too personal, can you share some more details on where you got it done and why you chose them?
Yeah L3, I’ve been swamped all month so I haven’t had a chance to schedule but I’m hoping later this week I’ll be setting up my first procedure in alter February.
Good luck L3. I am a big believer in plastic surgery, within reason. (Although I have never had any.) The hypocrisy of folks who look down upon it is laughable. I got in a “discussion” with a co-worker when she derided a person who had some work done. I asked her if she ever had braces. She said, “Yes, so what?” It took a few seconds, then she just turned around and went back to work.
Congrats, make sure to document with pictures so u can see the progress.

I think it is different once again, because when you are a kid getting braces is probably not your decision and probably does not signal some sort of insecurity, although I never had braces so I don’t really know. I think plastic surgery is fine, provided people do it for the right reasons. Some people I know have taken it a little far in the quest for perfection, and I think that can signal some deep seeded insecurity from which the plastic surgery industry can profit (and never actually fix). I also don’t like the idea of a quick fix (lipo) as opposed to a genuine healthy lifestyle (good diet and exercise). It sounds like L3 did it after much deliberation and for the right reasons. To each their own.
^^^Fair enough point about the kid not having a choice in the matter. However, there are thousands of kids walking around for months with a mouth full of hardware (my daughter included) and having to make multiple visits to the ortho, all for the purpose of having straight teeth. Yet many of the parents who don’t think twice about their daughter’s braces deride the person who has a nose job, b00b job or other surgeries to enhance appearance. Ultimately, I am with you: To each their own.
J Baldy Guy should have a say in this matter. Bald looks good on some doodes
so i was kind of nervous about going into work today, after Friday’s surgery. Everything went great. I told a few people and their reactions were the same: " I knew there was something different but couldn’t put finger on it, etc." Grant it hairs are barely existent (donor site shaved ) but still noticiable. After a few months the hairs should be coming in strong. Anyway, I got it done at a place in ct. Guy is a fellow of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery…highly recommend it. Dr. and his staff were just awesome. As I said worth the money. I just didn’t like the bald look.
Baldy bean!!
Just scheduled my first trial transplant (a few hundred grafts) for March! Actually not a transplant, they’re going to attempt cloning. I’m concerned that the new hairs may be socially ostracized for having grown up with a non-traditional childhood.
